Type C silica gel, also known as macroporous silica gel, appears as milky white translucent granules. It is divided into two categories: spherical and irregular lumps. Its main component is SiO2·nH2O, which is insoluble in water and inorganic acids but soluble in hydrofluoric acid and concentrated caustic alkali solutions. Its internal structure features a pore volume of 0.78-1.00 ml/g, a pore diameter of 80-100 Å, and a specific surface area of 300-500 m²/g.

This product is primarily used for drying various industrial gases, adsorbing organic acids and moisture in transformer oil, high-molecular proteins during industrial fermentation processes, harmful multivalent elements in water, as well as for drug purification and separation, moisture-proofing of items, bedding for pet care, catalyst carrier, and it also serves as a fundamental raw material for further processing into refined silica gel series products.
